Longitudinal and dyadic data violate the assumptions of ordinary regression. Analysing such data with cross-sectional methods is one of the most common methodological objections raised in peer review. The course covers the appropriate models for both data structures and the reasoning behind choosing between them.

  • Longitudinal measurement invariance
  • Modelling change with latent growth models (LGM)
  • The cross-lagged panel model (CLPM)
  • The random-intercept CLPM (RI-CLPM) and why it is preferred
  • Interdependence and distinguishability in dyadic data
  • The Actor–Partner Interdependence Model (APIM)
  • Mediation and moderation extensions of APIM
  • Reporting longitudinal and dyadic findings
