Qualitative Data Analysis
Content and thematic analysis with a defensible coding frame
We run content and thematic analysis, build the coding framework, establish inter-coder reliability and present the findings systematically.
Qualitative work is often criticised in review not for its interpretation but for the absence of an auditable process. We make the process auditable: how the coding frame was derived, who coded what, how disagreements were resolved and how the themes were arrived at.
\nCoding is carried out by at least two coders where reliability is to be reported, with agreement quantified rather than asserted. Findings are presented with illustrative extracts and a clear account of how frequently and across how many participants each theme appeared.
\nSoftware: MAXQDA or NVivo. Mixed-methods integration is available where your design combines qualitative and quantitative strands.
What You Receive
Coding framework
The frame itself, with its derivation documented so a reviewer can follow it.
Inter-coder reliability
Agreement quantified (Cohen’s kappa or an equivalent) and reported.
Findings
Themes with illustrative extracts, prevalence stated, ready for the results section.
How the Process Works
- Initial assessmentYou share your research question, your dataset and your target journal. Together we decide which analysis is appropriate.
- Proposal and planScope, timeline and fee are agreed, and what you will receive is set out in writing.
- AnalysisAssumption checks, model specification and estimation, with interim findings shared with you.
- Delivery and handoverAPA-format tables, a written interpretation and a handover conversation. We do not request authorship for standard analysis work.
